Episode 25: “INSTANT” Picking up straight from the end of Episode 24, Yu-ri puts a name to what he saw in the dark: the field of vision of the crows that roost in the ruined district, reached by a sense that feels exactly like reading Ten’s will through his palm. Abura lays out a rule of his own — the gap between them is not only the difference in weapons but whether a man has killed, and until Yu-ri crosses that line he is a rat on the hunted side. So Yu-ri turns the boast against its owner: an aim that never misses is an aim that can be predicted. Both earlier shots went for his head to kill in one, so he tracks the third to the last instant before impact and slips it exactly as read. Something else is surfacing too — a translucent haze around the stone, rising the moment Abura takes hold of it. He has no idea yet what it means. Closing in on the beat before a swing, Yu-ri gets far enough to clamp the pipe under his arm, only to be lifted with it and slammed into the ground; raw strength is not something analysis can overturn. Flat on the rubble, he finds his answer anyway. His fighting was never a stopgap borrowed from a Fusebeast — ten years of swordsmanship under Ojiki lie underneath it — and what he lacks is not a better weapon but a single instant’s opening. So he stops running. He taps his own temple, invites the shot that never misses, and waits for the haze to rise.
