Episode 24: “SENSE” The tackle lands and Abura goes down, but the opening buys only seconds. With the sword gone and no talent for fighting bare-handed, Yu-ri runs for the rubble to dig out anything rod-shaped he can swing. Across the ruins Soujun slips out of his own jacket, leaves it hanging in Waraji’s fist and runs off with the trunk — not out of courage, as he is the first to admit, but because three hundred million Lenny is more than even a man whose motto is avoiding danger can walk away from. durrun mode is not an option: the gasoline in Ojiki’s whiskey bottle is Utaki’s emergency reserve, and turning Fuser would put the government and the yakuza back on his trail. Sasara, mistaking the missing jacket for readiness, cracks his knuckles and comes after him. Meanwhile Abura finally shows what the pipe is really for: he picks a stone off the ground, swings, and bats it. The first shot shatters the wall beside Yu-ri; the second spins into a curve and finds him behind cover. It catches him square in the head — and in the instant the blood sprays, something clicks. In the dark that follows, Yu-ri feels several scenes and a heartbeat at once. He comes to under the eye of a crow, stands with the bent bar in his hand, and answers aloud that yes, he may well have lost his mind. But the sensation is not new to him. It is the one he knows from connecting with Ten.
